For my sister's birthday, she got a kindle touch. So My mom suggested i make her a case for it. I browsed the web looking for different styles of cases and finally decided my favorite was this case from the wonder forest. It was a little difficult because I had no materials (except a sewing machine of course) but as my mom's friend said, our families are pretty good at "whipping this up" so I just went to the store and bought a bunch of brown felt and then stopped by goodwill and bought a shirt with a cool pattern from the half off rack. I was in a hurry though and didnt think about getting an 100% cotton shirt, so the sewing ended up being a little tricky because of the stretch. But it turned out all right. Here are some pictures from my sewing adventure:
Supplies:
1. Felt. Lots of felt. I ended up using four pieces
2. A ruler or other measuring devise
3. Fabric
4. Other embellishments (I used felt stick on letters and spelled out my sister's initials on the front of the case
5. Stick on or sew velcro
6. Of course what project is complete without some music :)
So there you have it, that was my big project, it took about four hours to do.

Christmas Eve
It is Christmas Eve.
Tomorrow is Christmas DAY...
That seems weird, christmas really snuck up on me this year.
Anyway, here are some of my wrapping adventures, as promised:
For this present, I cut out leaf shapes onto pretty scrapbooking paper, then glued it to the plain white wrapping paper to spruce it up a little.
For the next present, I cut a spiral out of newspaper, then rolled it up to make a cute little rose flower.
And this final present I wrapped with comics.
So there you have it x)
I love wrapping presents
P.S. Like my red and green nail polish for christmas? ;)
P.P.S. Yes it was sunny and 40 degrees today:

Christmas Break
Oh how I love christmas break.
No school, wrapping christmas presents, hanging out with family...
What could be better?
Mainly the no school part.
So now the big question, What have I been doing that's kept me from posting for so long? (Especially since I don't have school dragging me down.)
Well a variety of things:
visiting with friends,
going to parties,
decorating cookies,
all the fun stuff that people do during the christmas season...
My dog ate our gingerbread house once...
ABOVE: A christmas gift for someone I know
Also my first experiment with sewing, I don't think it turned out too bad x)
ABOVE: A totally awesomely rad greeting card I drew in like two seconds. I'm pretty proud, to say the least.

We went to a gingerbread-house-making & decorating party . . . or you could just call it a Christmas Party, where we decorated gingerbread houses and had a white elephant gift exchange.
And we came home with some lovely ginger bread houses.
My dog ate our gingerbread house once...
And I've been doing a lot of crafting . . . a LOT of crafting. More crafting, in fact, than I've done in the last two years put together. I love making crafts, but I never have time to do it during the school year, so I squish it all into the breaks and summer.
I had to put this up so no one would come downstairs, where I've been working. Well... I wouldn't actually call it work.
Where I've been doing Christmas-related activities. (we'll call it that)

So THAT is why I haven't posted sooner, sorry folks. But after christmas and all the wrapping of gifts I'll have more time to post more. Maybe I'll explain my crafts with a little more detail, but wouldn't want to spoil any christmas gifts ;)
I'll also make a post with my wrapping adventures, I'm trying new things this year.

December
Well I've seen quite a few posts about it being december, which is cool and all, but I decided not to post about that. :)
Instead I will tell you about my weekend.
My weekend was pretty cool.
I went to the mall with two of my best friends to go dress shopping.
It was fun, but unfortunately I didn't find a dress.
Then we went to a free concert
(which was a lot better than I expected, so it turned out to be pretty fun)
The next day we had a family over for lunch.
Right after they left I had to go to work.
Right after work we went to youth group, which is always fun
After youth group we decorated the christmas tree while listening to christmas music.

Frost & Imperfect Prose
I've been reading different people's posts on 'Imperfect Prose,' but it was really Quinn's post that inspired me to write my own post.
I often find myself in the same position as Quinn does.
I feel different, like I'm weird compared to everyone else.
I feel like just because I actually like reading and writing and haven't seen all the cool movies since I only really watch disney movies, that all of that makes me different. I feel like I have to look, act, and speak a certain way to be cool or to fit in.
Nobody likes feeling different. Especially me.

My Story | Week 2 | Thanksgiving
I was going to join this last week, but I didn't get it up in time, so I'm jumping in this week.
Thanksgiving this year was lots of fun.
We had lots of family staying with us and our neighbors came over on Thanksgiving day.
We ate a lot, talked a lot, then played settlers of catan for a few hours.
Then, at midnight, we went out Black Friday shopping for an hour, then came home and slept.
All in all, it was a good day. And a nice break from the school that's taken over my life. :)
Here are some pictures from the week...
